No, Henry Cejudo, you can't jump the line

Remember Henry Cejudo? The former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion?
Now he's saying that not only does he want a shot at the featherweight title, he's saying that he's the most deserving contender because of his previous resume- defeating Demetrious Johnson, knocking out TJ Dillashaw and knocking out Marlon Moraes and Dominick Cruz.

Well, let's go through that one thought at a time.

Henry: I'm the most deserving contender and I should jump the line.
That's false right out of the gate. The winner of Max Holloway v. Yair Rodriguez on November 13th is almost certainly getting the next crack at the title. Behind them, you have Chan Sung Jung, Calvin Kattar, Arnold Allen, Josh Emmett, Giga Chikadze, Dan Ige and Edson Barboza rounding out the top ten, not to mention Brian Ortega. The difference between them and Cejudo? All of them are career featherweights. Now, if Cejudo had said he wanted a tune-up fight at featherweight my tune would be different. Might I suggest Arnold Allen, who's 8-0 in the UFC? Or Bryce Mitchell, who's 14-0 overall?

Henry: Just look at my previous resume.
Although his wins are impressive, one might argue that some of them (cough- Dillashaw and Cruz- cough) could be considered early stoppages, and he didn't finish Johnson- although, honestly, who did during his time in the Octagon? But the biggest thing I'm noticing about his resume is this- his wins over Johnson and Dillashaw came at 125 pounds while his Moraes and Cruz wins came at 135 pounds. Now he's saying he wants his first 145 pound fight to be for the title. What a slap in the face to the men's featherweight top ten that would be if the fight actually came to fruition.
