Road to Paris 2024- May 27th edition

Men's Soccer: With qualifier competition resuming on Wednesday, Austria, Belarus, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kosovo, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and Ukraine are still in the running to join Belgium, Georgia, Romania and Spain in the U21 Euros final tournament and move a step closer to Paris 2024. 

Women's Soccer: With the CONCACAF W Championship starting in July, Canada, Costa Rica, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago and United States are still in the running for the lone automatic spot at Paris 2024.

Men's Soccer: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Estonia, Gibraltar, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, North Macedonia, San Marino and Wales

Women's Soccer: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Turks and Caicos Islands and U.S. Virgin Islands

Three quick questions

Why are Russia only suspended from U21 Euros qualifying? To me, suspension from the tournament is too much of a short-term consequence- not only that, a suspension can be lifted at any time. And this is compounded by the fact that the U21 Euros next summer are the continental qualifier for Paris 2024 men's soccer.   So here's what I suggest FIFA does: remove Russia from the U21 Euros qualifiers. As a result, Russia can't qualify for Paris 2024 in men's soccer. I'm thinking that will be much more of a consequence than saying "you can't play in the tournament  now , but maybe in a couple of months".  Why is Russia in the EuroBasket field?  This years' EuroBasket tournament is scheduled for September and, surprisingly, Russia are not only in the field but are in Group A for the opening round.
