Road to Paris 2024- June 3rd Edition

U21 Euros Qualifying
Group B: Germany can win the group if they defeat Hungary while Poland is in the drivers' seat for the playoff spot after they defeated San Marino and Israel fell to Latvia (for Israel to move past them into the playoffs two things need to happen on Tuesday due to Poland's superior goal difference- an Israel win v. San Marino and a Poland loss v. Germany) 

Group F: Sweden, Italy and Ireland are the only three teams remaining in contention. One win and four points separate Sweden (auto qualifying) and Ireland (elimination) 

Group H: France and Ukraine are the only two teams remaining in contention as both teams have at least qualified for the playoffs

Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, North Macedonia, San Marino, Serbia and Wales

Three quick questions

Why are Russia only suspended from U21 Euros qualifying? To me, suspension from the tournament is too much of a short-term consequence- not only that, a suspension can be lifted at any time. And this is compounded by the fact that the U21 Euros next summer are the continental qualifier for Paris 2024 men's soccer.   So here's what I suggest FIFA does: remove Russia from the U21 Euros qualifiers. As a result, Russia can't qualify for Paris 2024 in men's soccer. I'm thinking that will be much more of a consequence than saying "you can't play in the tournament  now , but maybe in a couple of months".  Why is Russia in the EuroBasket field?  This years' EuroBasket tournament is scheduled for September and, surprisingly, Russia are not only in the field but are in Group A for the opening round.
